If you are interested in being a volunteer, please click on the 'Volunteer Application Form' link, print out the form, and complete it. Drop the form off at Meadow Heights Learning Shop, Visy Cares Learning Centre, 3-13 Hudson Circuit, Meadow Heights, 3048. Our staff will be in contact with you.

Roles filled by Volunteers at MHLS -

Computer Clubhouse & Homework Club Assistant

Work with young people aged 10 to 18 years.
Operates Mon to Fri 3:00-7:00pm.

 

Playgroup Facilitator

Work with parents, and children aged 0 to 5 years.
Operates Fri 10:00am-12:00noon.

 

Assistant Adult English Tutor

Assist our Tutors to help adults learn the English language.
Operates Mon to Fri, with morning, afternoon, and evening classes.

 

Drop-in Centre Attendant

Create a welcoming atmosphere for people who call in (drop in) just to see a friendly face or find out information.
Operates Tue to Fri, 10:00am - 3:00pm.

 

Soccer Program Assistant

Assist our young people to play their favourite sport.
Operates Wed 4:30 to 6:30pm.

 

Events Assistant

If you like to help organise events, then this could be for you. Our events include - multicultural community celebrations, graduations, International Women's Day, and more.
Occurs on dates and times specific to each event.

 

Walking Club Co-ordinator

Develop a local walking club, with support from the Heart Foundation.
Operate on your own timetable. Days and times to be confirmed.

 

Community Garden Assistant

Assist with the development of a local community garden.
Days and times to be confirmed.

 

Friends of Buchan Street Community Centre

Buchan Street Community Centre belongs to the community. Have your say as to what activities you would like to see happening here.

 

Informal Computer Classes

Working with people who drop in to use the computers and teaching computing.

 

Cooking Workshop Assistant

Working with adults and sharing cooking skills with one another.

 

Graphic Designer

Working with staff to design posters and pamphlets.

 

Administration Assistant

Assisting with administration tasks within our organisation.
