"I have actually just started (2 weeks ago) a Teacher's Aide position at the same school where I did my placement where my kids go. I have been employed part-time for Terms 3 & 4, 2009 working Mon-Thurs @18 hours/week.

The hours are just great as I take the kids to school, start at 9am and finish at 1.30pm (then go back to pick them up by 3.15pm). Luckily I live quite close to the school. The job is great and I am gaining lots of hands on experience every day, focusing on literacy support with Grades Prep, 2 and one Grade 6 class. As well as sometimes even working with Grade 1.

The children and teachers have been most welcoming and are a joy to work with. The position will be reviewed before the end of the year and hopefully (depending on funding) the school will have me back next year.

However the outcome, the knowledge gained from the MHLS course, and the experience I am picking up now, have given me a great opportunity."
